H. F. Speirs

I am a freelance journalist, poet, theatre-maker and visual artist from Hertfordshire.

I have written news, features and reviews for London Pub Theatre’s Magazine and have held a bi-weekly column at Dusk Magazine.

Currently, I am studying MA Magazine Journalism @ City, University of London, specialising in data driven research alongside Arts and Culture journalism.

I also graduated University College London (UCL) in English Literature, serving as President and Chair of Poetry between 2022 – 2024, alongside Theatre Editor at Era Journal for over a year. .

In 2022, I founded The Wistful Company, innovating with physical theatre and spoken word to make poetry more accessible to younger audiences. Wistful: An Experimental Revival of Poetry on Stage was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022. Currently we are working on new shows to perform around the United Kingdom.

My own poetry has been published in Dusk Magazine, Twisted Ink, Era Journal and UCL’s Writer’s Block.
